Douglas

Located in the Irish Sea approximately equal distances from England and Ireland, the Isle of Man is home to around 80,000 people. The capital of the island is the town of Douglas, housing roughly 26,000, and is where the majority of the Island's employment is located. (details from the 2006 census)

The island is a self governing crown dependancy, having the worlds oldest continuous parliament, and has it's own currency, stamps and laws.

Along with the more traditional industries of agriculture, fishing and tourism the island has experienced rapid growth in financial services over recent years.
Life on the island has a relaxed pace and the people are friendly, and although small, the mix of stunning countryside and vibrant towns provides plenty to do. Home to the world famous TT Races, fans and riders travel from around the world during two weeks in June to take part in the unique TT festival.
